Young Engineers

Young Engineers

SIM has a fantastic relationship with the Young Engineers organisation which our Trust supports. Young Engineers runs competitions and provides resources for schools and colleges. All good stuff. All good fun.

But there's more, much more.

At the annual Big Bang Fair, Young Engineer regional finalists compete for the top prizes. One of these is the WCSIM Young Engineer of The Year. Now, not only is the winner offered a Livery apprenticeship worth £500 a year at university, but he or she is given the opportunity of an all-expenses-paid trip to the USA to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair. The package can be worth up to £7,000!!! WOW.

Not so long ago, our British award winner won the International Prize, beating young engineers from all over the world! And who says that UK engineering is dead?

So, fancy a bit of fun competition? And who knows, maybe you could be competing in all- expenses-paid Science Fair in L.A. Muscle Beach anyone?
