Millenium Measure

Millennium Measure

The Millennium Measure was presented by the Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers to the City of London in commemoration of the millennium. It comprises a 3 sided, 2 metre rule depicting two thousand years of history of the City, the Church and the craft of scientific instrument making. The initials “MM” stand for “Millennium Measure”, “millimetre” and “two thousand” in Roman numerals. It was designed by Liveryman Joanna Migdal.
A plaque commemorates the presentation of the millennium measure on 16th September 2002. It was accepted on behalf of the City by the Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor Alderman, Michael Oliver.
