Institute of Measurement and Control

Our relationship with the InstMC is one of our oldest and we have many joint members. Their aims are to serve the public benefit by advancing the science and practice of measurement and control technologies and their various applications. They also aim to foster the exchange of views and the communication of knowledge and ideas in these activities, and to promote the professional development and qualification our members. As a result we try and hold at least one event a year that InstMC members can attend.

Bridge Ward Club

The Company have had a long affiliation with the Bridge Ward Club. All the 25 wards in the City have Ward Clubs although some have combined over time. They all started life as a way for local residents to air their views to their elected representative on the City of London Common Council. As the City has become more business focused and the residents have moved away their function is now a mix of business and social. SIM Hall aka Glaziers’ Hall is located on the very edge of Bridge Ward through its connection with London Bridge. Hence the name of the Club. Do mention your membership of WCSIM if you apply to join the club.

Foundation for Science and Technology

The Foundation for Science and Technology is a UK charity, providing an impartial platform for debate of policy issues that have a science, research, technology or innovation element. Established in 1977, the Foundation brings together Parliamentarians, civil servants, industrialists, researchers, learned societies, charities and others. We had aimed to have a joint conference style event mid 2020 but this was postponed due to the COVID situation. We hope that this can be reinstated later in 2021.
