ADMISSION COURT DINNER on 21 October 2021
Mr C A Holroyd newly installed Master, assisted by the new Senior Warden Prof P J Thomas and the new Junior Warden Mr A Dunford, hosted the Admission Court Dinner of the Scientific Instrument Makers’ Company held last night in Scientific Instrument Makers’ Hall.
The principal guest and speaker was Rear Admiral Chris Parry CBE. The toast to the Immortal Memory was given by Able Cadet G Tutt of Southwark Sea Cadets, T/S Cossack.
The Junior Warden and the Master also spoke.
The Deputy Master, Mr M E Wheatley presented the Company’s prizes to military award winners Lt Cdr S McCann, Petty Officer E Hyman Gordan, Sapper M Reynolds, Flight Lieutenant Mark Harbon, and Able Cadet G Tutt, Southwark Sea Cadets. Court Assistant Stephen O’Connor presented the joint WCSIM/IPEM essay prizes for 2020 to Mr J Bezer and 2021 to Mr E Peake.
The Masters of the Worshipful Companies of Spectacle Makers, Master Mariners, Engineers, Information Technologists, Launderers, Tin Plate Workers Companies and their Clerks attended together with representatives from the Royal School of Military Survey, Royal Navy Hydrographic School, RAF Cosford and the Sea Cadets.
