The second Manchester SIM Hub meeting was held on Thursday 3rd of August, once again at the Wharf pub. The evening was full of stimulating conversation and great ideas for the Hub going forward, including initiating a series of seminar-style talks from people within the SIM (from both established and new members) and possibly organising a tour of curated scientific instrumentation at one of the Manchester museums. Discussions also included the logistics for the lab tours and excursions discussed at the previous meeting. The group decided that an online poll would be the best method to gauge which dates would be best for more SIM members to attend the third SIM Hub meeting in September. However, a preliminary date was set for Thursday 14th September, once again at the Wharf pub (6 Slate Wharf, Manchester M15 4ST).
