Innovate UK, as part of UK Research and Innovation, is offering 10 Women in Innovation Awards to female entrepreneurs across the UK.
The Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) and the Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers (WCSIM) announce the launch of a new essay prize.
I thought it was a good opportunity to write to everyone again in this Bulletin at the end of July. For most of us this time of year signals the start of the summer holidays.
The WCSIM Educational Trust is focused on young people studying Science and Engineering, with a leaning towards Scientific Instruments.
During our first ever – and perhaps not our last – Admission Ceremony via Zoom on 1st July, three new Freeman were admitted.
One of our Scholars, Mairi Dorward, has won a grant for renewable energy research. The topic of the award is her work in measuring complex marine currents for use in the tidal energy sector.
Each year the Company gives some charitable funds to Charles Dickens Primary School in Southwark. The money the Company has donated has gone to support science equipment, the Library and most recently the development of a garden and greenhouse.
One of our Apprentices, Diana Virgovičova, has certainly been very busy in the last year, collecting a number of awards.
The Company helped Ben with a grant to support his attendance at the American Geophysical Union conference in California.
