The Annual Garden of Remembrance Service at St Paul’s Cathedral

On Monday 3 November the Master and Charity Secretary represented the Company at the Annual Garden of Remembrance Service at St Paul’s Cathedral.  The Service was attended by the Lord Mayor, Lady Mayoress, Sheriffs, senior representatives of the Royal British Legion, Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, Cadets from City of London schools and the Masters of all Livery Companies.

The AHCS’s latest webinar “Sustainability and the Circular Economy in the NHS” took place on 9th October 2025.  Chaired by Professor Stephen O’Connor, it focused on sustainability in healthcare within our NHS. And featured two expert speakers who are both at the cutting edge of sustainability.

SIM at the Annual Inspection of the Light Cavalry Honourable Artillery Company Sunday 5 October 2025

The Master, Senior Warden, Junior Warden and other SIM members were delighted to attend the HAC Light Cavalry Annual Inspection on Sunday in Windsor and to enjoy the splendid reception afterwards with the Lady Mayoress, the Prime Warden Blacksmiths and the Master Farrier.

Dr Sam White – Engineering Magazine Article

Young Freeman Dr Sam White, is featured in the June issue of Engineering Magazine.

His article (which can be viewed via the link below) describes the development of a remote, robotic welding and inspection system that can work in nuclear waste areas where the radiation dose is too high for humans to contemplate.

Kenneth Walton Apprentice Award

The inaugural Kenneth Walton Apprentice Award for the Best Apprentice Report was presented to Saakshi Bhat by Stuart Walton (son of Kenneth).
This award will now be presented annually at the Education Trust Supper each March.  (Pictured L to R Saakshi Bhat, Stuart Walton (son of Kenneth), and Alex Walton (grandson of Kenneth).

SIM at the Honourable Artillery Company

The Master and Pauline were delighted to represent the Company at Armoury House for the Light Cavalry Summer Dinner on Saturday 12 July. 
During the evening the Officer Commanding (OC) Lieutenant Colonel Martin King HAC VR thanked the Master and Members of the Company for their support with the Light Cavalry sponsorship scheme.  The OC then presented the Master with a unit plaque for display in the hall (pictured with the Charity Secretary).
